NIE Awards

2026 Project Submissions

SPFA's National Industry Excellence Awards are presented annually at the SprayFoam Convention and Expo to honor our contractor members for their innovative, trail-blazing projects. The projects are judged by an independent panel along with SPFA members, and are scored based on exceptional quality work, the uniqueness of their project, speed of application, ability to solve special problems and challenges, and special safety considerations. Projects are divided into several categories described below, and a runner-up and winner is awarded for each category.

HIGHLIGHTS

NEW Category

We've broken the Building Enclosure category into three sizes:

  • Under 20,000 sq ft
  • Between 20,000 - 40,000 sq ft
  • Over 40,000 sq ft

Small Contractor Award

The projects submitted by contractors with 5 or fewer field personnel are eligible to win a 2nd Award. The projects will be voted on in the appropriate category, and after voting ends, all the Small Contractor projects will be ranked according to the number of votes they receive. The top vote getter of all Small Contractor submissions is the winner of this new award.

You may submit SHORT videos (2 minutes long) instead of the written submission form used in previous years.

No need for fancy video equipment or special software, simply use your smartphone to capture the details of your project as you narrate the important components you want the judges to consider in their review. Remember - the Awards will be judged on the merits of the project.

For those who prefer to do written submission, an abbreviated format will be available. Contractors will explain how their project meets the
judging criteria in a concise format (bulleted line items instead of paragraphs).

Judging is done by two groups of judges.

  • Panel of industry experts select their top pick in each category
  • All SPFA Members can vote for their top choice in each category. The Voting Representative from each company casts a ballot.
They will receive the link from SPFA in December.
